Work is related to Rod Page’s ongoing projects - Component, TreeMap etc.

Three problems related by comparison of trees: Genes & Organisms; Hosts & Parasites; Organisms & Geographical areas.

Usefulness of obtaining comparisons of phylogenetic trees: can infer rates of evolution (speciation), date events, infer phylogenetic relationships among the associated taxa/geographical areas.
